Genshin Impact Studio Trades Zelda: Breath Of The Wild For Elden Ring In Its New Action-RPG
Opening up Gamescom Opening Night Live today was something called Nodus Fall, a brand new game from HoYoverse that both looks and sounds an awful lot like the studio’s rendition of Elden Ring.
Nodus Fall is an original cooperative action game in which you play as a “Weaver” in a world where “divine authority has crumbled” and you must work together with others to take down “mythic beings.” From the trailer, we can see creatures like a dragon and a phoenix lording over the land, a giant titan with its head on fire, some big muscle guy punching an anvil, wolves, and huge environments clearly intended to make players feel really tiny. The trailer also shows off some flashy sword combat and cooperative battles with multiple players facing off against real big guys.
Now look, I don’t want to sit here and talk about how much this looks like Elden Ring, but it really does look a lot like Elden Ring, especially in terms of the characters showcased and the way some of its trailer shots are put together. The gameplay itself looks like a mix of that and Monster Hunter, and I gotta admit it looks cool to jump on the back of a big guy you’re fighting.
Nodus Fall is being made in Unreal Engine 5, which I only mention because it’s about the only other piece of info we have about this game right now. No release window yet. We’ll update as more information comes in.
