Samsung’s latest Galaxy Book 6 starts at $799 with 8GB of RAM
Samsung is launching a new laptop in its Galaxy Book 6 series, and it’s much more affordable with a starting price of $799.
Announced this week, the latest Galaxy Book 6 release is a mid-tier version of Samsung’s laptop, cutting down on some key specs in order to hit a lower price point. Where the current lowest-priced option is a 14-inch (IPS) Galaxy Book 6 with 512GB of storage, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip, the new model takes everything a step down with:
It’s a notable step down, but at considerable savings. Where that previously mentioned Book 6 starts at $1,249 in the US, this new release will start at $799 – $100 more than the MacBook Neo.
The hardware measures in at 15.7mm thick, just shy of 3lbs, and has a 61.2Wh battery inside – Samsung claims 25 hours of battery life – with 45W USB-C charging. There are two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI port, and a headphone/microphone jack. Samsung is also introducing a new “Violet Silver” color in addition to the usual grey. It runs Windows 11 with Samsung’s usual suite of added apps that include a lot of integrations with Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung’s new Galaxy Book 6 is available already in some markets, but not the US just yet. It’ll be available on Samsung.com and Amazon in the States starting October 5.
