Meccha Chameleon Is Coming To Switch 2 Later Today
This year’s big viral online video game indie hit, Meccha Chameleon, is coming to Switch 2 later today. It’s the first console port of the popular game about painting and hiding in plain sight.
During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Meccha Chameleon is making the leap from Steam to Switch 2. Here’s the official Switch 2 trailer via Nintendo:
Paint yourself to blend in and trick the seekers. Can you stay hidden? 🎨🦎

According to the devs in the game’s official Discord server, this port of Meccha Chameleon will support crossplay with the PC version. It’ll be sold at a discount during its first week on the Nintendo eShop, and it looks like the new port will let players use the Joy-Con’s mouse mode, which will be very useful in this game that was designed around mouse and keyboard controls.
Released earlier this year, Meccha Chameleon is an online hide-and-seek game in which players paint themselves and try to blend into different maps. Other players then try to find and shoot these hidden players with shotguns.
The game quickly became a mega-hit on Steam. At one point, over 340,000 players were playing this oddball multiplayer game at the same time. Since then, it’s been copied by many other devs in games like Roblox and Fortnite, but the original still has a large dedicated audience. And now they have a new platform to play Meccha Chameleon on and new players to find. No word on any other console ports yet.
