New Oblivion Remastered Patch Fixes What The Old Oblivion Remastered Patch Broke On Switch 2
BethesdaPatchSwitch 2The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
Last month, Bethesda pushed out a small update for the Switch 2 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This patch ended up making the open-world RPG look a lot worse. (Tale as old as time…) Now, a new update is out for Oblivion on Switch 2 that, according to Bethesda, resolves the issue it introduced to the game the last time it updated the port.
In late September, a small update arrived for Oblivion Remastered. Nobody was expecting much from the tiny update besides some minor bug fixes. However, players quickly began documenting numerous visual issues with the RPG post-patch, including ghosting and everything looking blurrier than before. Things were so bad that some players didn’t let their copy update to avoid the visual downgrade. But things should be better now.
An update for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 has just released, resolving the global visual degradation issue discovered in the previous update. Thank you for your continued feedback and support!

On October 13, Bethesda pushed out a new update for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2 and confirmed that it had fixed a “global visual degradation issue discovered in the previous update.”
According to players who have downloaded the new update, Oblivion on Switch 2 indeed looks much better and more like it did before September’s patch borked everything up. Some are even suggesting it might be running a bit better than it ever did. Interesting. The patch is also reportedly bigger than some expected, making me wonder what Bethesda did in the first place to cause the visual issues.
Regardless, it is now safe to download the latest patch for Oblivion on Switch 2.
