Apple showcases iPad Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max’s role in ‘landmark fashion show’
Apple today shared a behind-the-scenes look at “From Earth to Sky,” a fashion show in Turkey that was designed with an iPad Pro and filmed using an iPhone 18 Pro Max. Here are the details.
From time to time, Apple’s Newsroom highlights interesting uses of the company’s products in projects that help illustrate the practical applications of their more advanced and professional hardware and software features.
Today, Apple shared a fascinating look at “From Earth to Sky,” a fashion show created by German-born designer Bünyamin Aydın to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Turkish fashion brand Les Benjamins.
Aydın’s creative process relies heavily on the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil Pro, paired with apps such as Freeform and Procreate.
Aydın’s creative process seldom takes place behind a desk, so he appreciates the flexibility iPad Pro offers with its thin, light form factor and battery life that can last him up to two days. “It’s the ultimate workstation on the go,” Aydın says. “That gives me freedom.”
For this specific project, Aydın says he used Freeform to organize photographs, fabric references, and early designs into mood boards that could be shared with his team, while Procreate played a central role in designing the three custom-built hot-air balloons featured in the show.
As for where the new iPhone 18 Pro Max came in, French filmmaker Neels Castillon used the device to capture the fashion show, including footage shot with custom-built drones carrying two iPhones each.
As feeds from the whirling drones come into Castillon’s production control center, synchronizing them begins right there on location. He reviews footage and makes selections on MacBook Pro with M4 Max; its nano-texture display helps reduce glare from the sun overhead.
While the post is obviously intended to help promote the technical capabilities of Apple’s current product line-up, it also offers a really interesting look at a creative project from a world that very few of us have contact with.
Apple says its @apple Instagram account will begin showcasing “From Earth to Sky” starting today, but you can also check out a behind-the-scenes video, photos, and more details about the project here.
