Nidhogg Designer’s Mash-Up Of Pac-Man And Vampire Survivors And Everything Else Hitting Game Pass In August 2026
The second wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for August 2026 has been revealed, and there are four games joining the Ultimate tier of the Netflix-like subscription for the first time. The headliner is a new Plague Tale game, but don’t sleep on Blood Dungeon, either.
You probably know the Plague games, which are kinda like if you took The Last Of Us, turned it into a stealth-only game, and then loaded it up with rats. But Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will turn that formula on its head a bit by being primarily action-focused. There’s even a parry button and finishing moves. Can I interest anyone in some rat souls? Blood Dungeon, meanwhile, is the latest solo project from Nidhogg artist Mark Essen, and it’s sort of like if you took that game and turned it into a roguelike Pac-Man.
Here’s everything joining Xbox Game Pass in wave 2 for August 2026:
It’s a lighter second half of the month, and the bulk of the additions are things filtering down to Game Pass Premium, rather than fresh additions to Game Pass Ultimate. The good news is that fans were treated to a surprise shadow-drop of Wolfenstein 3D earlier in the month.
As for notable departures, well, The Witcher 3 is leaving on August 31. You should just buy it when it goes on sale for ridiculously cheap, but otherwise you’ve got just under two weeks to find Ciri and vanquish the Wild Hunt. And also win every Gwent game on the continent.
